When strange and deadly punishments are unleashed on the population of a small German village in the year preceding World War 1 its inhabitants suspicions are turned to their children.
 
Directed by Austrian director Michael Haneke. The film won the prestigious Palme D'or at Cannes and was followed by three major prizes at the 2009 European Film Awards for Best Film, Best Director and Best Screenwriter.
