Folkestone Skabour Festival 2010 kicks-off with a fantastic evening at Quarterhouse with headline act THE BEAT, one of ska's finest bands. The success of THE BEAT reunion gig in 2003 at London's Royal Festival Hall, encouraged Ranking Roger to resurrect THE BEAT, with his son Matthew Murphy accompanying on vocals.
The Mayor will officially open the festival and greet representatives of 2-Tone Central of Coventry, the new museum/café/venue dedicated to 2-Tone at Coventry University opening in September 2010. The night will kick off with support from Kent band THE SKATONICS, a 7-piece band rapidly becoming one of the best SKA bands in the UK.
