On Sale Thursday 22nd September Sir Ian Kershaw presents his new book The End: Hitler’s Germany 1944-1945. In contrast to recent chronicles of the last days of the Third Reich, Kershaw focuses not only on the reasons why it failed but why it took so long to fall, and the resulting impact on German society and Europe as a whole. Author of award-winning titles such as Hitler 1889-1936: Hubris and Hitler 1936-1945: Nemesis, Ian Kershaw was given the German award of the Federal Cross of Merit for services to history in 1994. He was knighted in 2002 and is a Fellow of the British Academy.
