Presented by A Town Unearthed Dr Lesley Hardy of Canterbury Christ Church University and Project Director of A Town Unearthed looks at the fascinating work of S.E. Winbolt, Classics teacher, author, and pioneering archeologist, in the context of the culture of post World War I Britain. Winbolt’s 1924 excavation of the Roman Villa on Folkestone’s East Cliff, made it internationally renowned and one of the first “heritage” sites in the country.
