We are Lightning!

Fri 27 Jul - Sat 28 Jul

Acclaimed Australian artist Joseph O’Farrell (JOF) and one of UK’s finest, Sam Halmarack combine theatre with the fist-pumping euphoria of a stadium concert in a darkly comic work that reflects on the importance of communal spaces where people can come together and express themselves.

Over a month long process, a local teen band, a community choir and a brass ensemble join JOF’s drums and Sam’s guitar to create a music spectacular like no other.

Folkestone Quarterhouse is transformed into a music venue on the brink of closure as each group leads the audience through a spectacular and heartfelt celebration of how music shapes the lives of the people that play it.

Join us for our last chance to come together and be saved by music.

Produced by MAYK, and part of a programme of international participatory touring work supported using public funding by Arts Council England. This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body. Supported by Arts House Melbourne and Creative Victoria.

Our second performance on Saturday 28 July will be BSL interpreted.
